How do I get started?

Please call us on 646 868 8396 or use our secure scheduling form to set up an initial appointment.
*PLEASE NOTE FOR YOUR ONGOING CONVENIENCE WE ARE OFFERING ALL INITIAL & ONGOING APPOINTMENTS BY ONLINE THERAPY ONLY*

How much will it cost?

Riggs Psychology Practice operates on a private pay basis. Please contact us to discuss our fees and your insurance and payment options (or see the handy insurance widget below).

We are an "out of network" provider for all insurance companies. We choose to be "out of network" as it affords us the opportunity to work in a flexible, person-centered way that maximizes confidentiality and reduces the need for the use of stigmatizing medical labels. This means that we charge you directly, and provide regular statements for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement back to you (if you wish). Many insurance companies are happy to reimburse on this basis and typically reimburse 50-80% of the fee.

Please be mindful if using insurance to pay for therapy that insurance companies have the right to audit your electronic medical records at any time. Legal consent is implied by the use of your benefits, even if these are "out of network". At Riggs Psychology Practice were are respectful of your privacy and do our best to limit the use of confidential information. However we are not responsible for what happens to such information when it reaches your insurance company.

What form of payment do you accept?

All payments are due in full at the beginning of each session. Payment is taken by credit card (including Health Savings Account cards).

What is your cancellation policy?

For the first intake we kindly request that all cancellations be given at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment time. If less than 48 hours notice is given you will be responsible for the therapist's full fee.

After the intake appointment we offer a limited cancelation policy. Limited cancellation policy: after the first session I do not offer ongoing free cancellations, just one annually. If something comes up, you are welcome to reschedule as long as you provide 48 hours notice and we can find another time within the designated window. The window includes the week before, the week of, or the week after your originally scheduled appointment. We do require a card be held on file, and it will be charged each week for your session. Please note that insurance companies do not typically reimburse for no shows or late canceled appointments.

Is Online Therapy available?

For your convenience we are able to see patients who reside in PA, NJ, NY, FL and TX state for all appointments via telemedicine. Click here for more information.
